These are awesome boots! Comfortable with great support and grip. They look good too.
Love my AKU's, specifically this model. We do lots of hiking and backpacking here in N. NM and I can't tell you how much these shoes save my feet. I have a wide foot and with thick socks, other shoes killed me after about 2hrs of hiking. I can hike with weight over rocky terrain in these for hours. They grip your mid-foot so my foot doesn't slide going up or down hills (no toe blisters). They are super grippy too thanks to the Octopus sole grips. I can cross streams getting them a bit wet (never submerged them) and my feet stay dry. I've had mine for about 3 years and they have lasted. Of course when it's time, I'll be getting another pair of these.
These are great and give me excellent arch support as well as throughout the foot and ankle. The first pair got me up Mount Kilimanjaro via the western breach. I gave that pair to a porter with no money to buy his own. So, I got these.
